Hypothesis:

This thesis presents a hypothesis that earliest stages multilingual children language learning process can be enhanced through portable, “Layered Reality” applications. In contrast of traditional commercial language materials such as books, videos, television programs, and music which are exposure to the recorded material, live interaction in an “Augmented Reality” form is more effective since it is not fixed to a certain time or place and would stimulate more direct, emotional response.
Such a hypothesis could open a new channel to expose and stimulate the development of the language in a distinct manner and intensity. As a result such learning would reflect the joy, spontaneity, energy and would become a positive life experience. It would garner social skills, reduce fear and foster child independence.

1.
Growing interracial and intercultural marriages in our society challenges the ever-increasing number of multiethnic and multiracial children.
Historically it is a direct result of ground braking Civil rights legislation of the early 1960s gave rights and freedom to various immigrant groups.

2.
The desire to raise a child bilingually can arise from any or some of the following reasons:
emigration,
intercultural marriages,
work abroad, or
cultural ties to various countries.

3.
A growing number of U.S. parents view bilingualism as a laudable family goal. The reasons for this trend include a desire to maintain ties to the parents' heritage language and culture, to provide children with academic and cognitive advantages, and to promote cross-cultural understanding and communication.

4.
Children should be exposed to bilingualism in earliest stages since they learn language unconsciously, above all through hearing. The goal of the infant is not to learn the language but to be able to communicate and interact in his environment.

5.
Internal and external factors play a great role in a bilingual or multilingual environment.
Language development is never a static process; it is rather a process that is forever evolving. The speed of this development is influenced by internal and external factors which play as well a crucial role in the language development of a child.
Internal factors: A motivation to speak well to articulate its needs.
External Factors: Language Level of the Parents and Teachers

6.
The most important traditional instruments targeting the stimulation of the secondary language are:
• Books and Magazines
• Stories, Songs on DVD’s, CD’s, Cassettes, and the Internet
• Games

7.
Interactive method is the best way for fostering language learning.

Hypothesis

this thesis presents the hypothesis that newest technology, such as augmented reality, in a play game form may improve 4-5-year-old children’s knowledge on traffic and stimulate safe behavior in traffic situations.

in contrast of today extremely poor kids behavior in traffic environments , with AR interactive game would be possible to transfer the knowledge to actual behavior.

Simply giving information does not necessarily make children’s behaviour any safer. Visual AR game would teach kids safety indirectly, through the most effective method in education - children’s active participation, making them to do things by themselves, practicing in real traffic situations

improving the traffic environment is the measure that has the greatest potential.
